## What WebEgg does

WebEgg builds a full website from a short business brief — not a single landing page. Every site comes with a home page, an about page, a services or menu page, a contact page, plus optional gallery, pricing, FAQ, or events pages depending on the business type. Each page shares the same nav, footer, fonts, color palette, and overall design system, so the site reads as one coherent brand instead of a string of disconnected templates.

The brief is collected through a short guided funnel (the operator answers ~10 questions about the business) or through Express Mode, a chat-style interface that asks 3-5 clarifying questions about whatever the operator types in.

Once the brief is in, WebEgg's generator writes the site, deploys it to Cloudflare Pages within ~60 seconds, and sends the operator a preview link. From there the operator can connect a custom domain (their existing email stays exactly where it is), edit any section by chatting with the built-in AI editor, or publish the site as-is.

## Who WebEgg is for

WebEgg is built for the operators of real, offline-and-online businesses — the kind of business that historically gets ignored by SaaS-template-driven website builders. The wedge:

**Native multilingual.** The funnel, the generator, and the editor all run in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Operators in Mexico, France, Brazil, Quebec, or Senegal build sites in their language end-to-end, not just translated marketing copy. Most AI website builders are English-only.

**Custom domains without breaking email.** Connect a domain through CNAME or full DNS in 2-5 minutes. Existing MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are left alone, so the operator's existing email keeps working. SSL is automatic.

**Real local-business templates.** Wedding sites, restaurant menus, service-area maps, photo galleries, event pages, and FAQ sections that match how each kind of business actually presents itself — not the SaaS hero-features-pricing-CTA template.

## How a site gets built

1. **Brief** — operator opens [webegg.ai](https://webegg.ai), enters their business name, what they do, where they're located, what makes them different. ~10 questions, ~3 minutes. Or uses Express Mode to type one prompt and answer 3-5 clarifying follow-ups.
2. **Generate** — AI writes the full multi-page site from the brief, deploys to Cloudflare Pages, sends the operator a preview URL. Usually 60-120 seconds.
3. **Edit** — operator opens the preview, chats with the AI editor to refine. Inline edits (change a phone number, swap a photo, rewrite a headline) take seconds.
4. **Claim** — operator creates an account, connects a custom domain (their own `restaurantname.com` etc.) or buys one through WebEgg, and the site goes live on their own URL.
5. **Run** — operator manages bookings, form submissions, content updates, and basic stats from the dashboard (web) or the mobile app.

## What WebEgg is not

- **Not a designer tool.** Framer, Webflow, and similar tools are made for designers who want pixel control. WebEgg is the opposite: the operator describes what the business does, the system designs it.
- **Not a SaaS landing page builder.** If you need a Stripe-style developer-tool landing page with purple gradients and KPI cards, use Vercel v0 or a Tailwind template. WebEgg is aimed at the small-business surface those tools don't serve.
- **Not a hosted blog platform.** WebEgg generates a marketing website, not a CMS. (Blog pages can be added per-site, but ongoing content publishing is not the primary use case.)
- **Not free forever.** Preview sites are free to generate and view. To connect a custom domain, claim the URL permanently, and unlock the dashboard, the operator buys the site (one-time charge plus a small hosting fee).

## Stack and infrastructure

- **Generator:** Claude Sonnet / Opus through the Anthropic API, with a custom system prompt encoding ~15kb of design discipline (typography rules, anti-cliché lists, hero composition rules, color strategy, accessibility requirements).
- **Hosting:** Cloudflare Pages. Every site is deployed to a unique preview URL on `*.modernmedia-previews.pages.dev` initially; custom domains are CNAMEd or use full DNS to the same Pages project.
- **Backend:** Flask on Railway. Postgres for lead and account storage. Stripe for payments.
- **Mobile app:** Flutter (single codebase for iOS and Android), built with Codemagic.
- **Analytics:** Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps (gated by GPC / DNT / CCPA opt-outs). Meta Pixel for ad attribution (same gating).
- **Privacy and compliance:** GDPR-compliant data export and deletion. Every generated site ships with a personalized privacy policy and terms of service. Global Privacy Control honored.
